Frequently Asked Painting Contractor Questions - Answered By Cobra Painting LLC

To answer some of your burning questions, our painting contractor in Edgewood has put together a FAQ section. If you don't find an answer to the question you have below, feel free to reach out to Cobra Painting LLC by filling out a form or calling our direct number.

What Type Of Paint Lasts The Longest?

Acrylic paint lasts the longest. It is generally used on exterior surfaces such as decks, patios, siding, and roofs.

The paint has resistance towards any weathering elements such as rain, snow, sleet, even the sun's UV rays. Here at Cobra Painting LLC, we use acrylic paint on exterior surfaces. However, if our clients request the paint to be used elsewhere, we are more than happy to adjust.

Why Should I Hire A Professional Painter When I Can Paint My House DIY?

To put it simply: your home won't look the same, in a bad way. It's hard to imitate a professional painter's works without learning the techniques and strategies behind the process.

In other words: just because you can paint your own house, doesn't mean that you should.

What Surfaces Are Safe To Pressure Wash?

There are a few surfaces that are safe to pressure wash. Some of those include:

  • Patios
  • Driveways
  • Decks
  • Walls and Siding
  • Windows
  • Fencing
  • Roofs
  • Walkways

In general, any surfaces that are hard and often in contact with the weathering elements tend to be safe for pressure washing. However, each of those surfaces does require different levels of pressure washing. One of the most common is soft washing - which uses half of the pressure from regular pressure washing.

What Are Good Alternatives To Popcorn Ceilings?

There is tiled, coffered, painted, and beamed, just to name a few. Each one may highlight your home differently.

  • Tiled is - obviously - made from tile. Tile could be made up of tin, Styrofoam, or tin.
  • Coffered is a ceiling style that appears in a grid-like form. Beams are installed on the ceiling and are arranged to form the pattern.
  • Painted is as simple as it sounds: painted. You could paint the ceiling white to brighten up the room or match it with the color of the walls.
  • Beamed is similar to coffered - but it instead is not in a set pattern. You can arrange the beams however you want - but most people choose to arrange the beams in a horizontal or vertical pattern across the entire length of the ceiling.
